Dale E. Rea
Elder Emeritus

In the mid-1930’s Dale was baptized at a small Christian Church
in Sedgwick, Kansas. During World War II he served his country in the naval
submarine service. After being discharged by the Navy, by way of the hospital,
he began attending Broadway Christian Church in Wichita, Kansas. Upon his
marriage to Elenora in 1949 he became a deacon at his church. In 1956 he and
Elenora moved to south Wichita and to a new congregation, Glenn Park Christian.
He became a deacon there and one year later was appointed elder. He served as
Chairman of the Board during the time they built their new building. In 1960
his job took him to Aurora, Colorado where they joined with the Cherry Creek
Christian Church. They were active in establishing a new congregation, Gateway
Christian in Aurora. They then moved to Michigan in 1966 where they were an
active part of Heart of the Hills Church of Christ. They returned to Wichita in
1967 where he served as elder, chairman of the elders for four years, and led
various committees until their move to Phoenix in 1991. Before they left
Wichita they felt the call of God to become a part of Palo Verde Christian.
When the Treasurer resigned Dale took over that responsibility. He has since
turned over that responsibility to others. In 1992 he became an elder at Palo Verde. He and Elenora have
served on the Steering Committee of Cactus Christian Fellowship since its
beginning. Dale says, “I have served as an elder because I believe that Jesus
Christ is the Son of the Living God, my personal Lord and Savior, and I have a
deep concern for those who are lost without Him. The purpose of an elder is to
proclaim, teach and serve.
